This rare found woodcarving was from ShanXi China and originally part of architectural adornments. It features ingenious carving of a three-dimensional story scene, a riding worrier on horse, farmers and trees. Human character carving was the most difficult to work on among all carving themes and therefore the most valuable. This carving showcases the great attention to details on the figures actions, facial expression, clothes, etc. Original colorful lacquer is still showing. Some damages were due to exposure in outdoor for over a century. Customized mounting stand prepares it ready to display.
